Our Mission
‘The 12′ is a group of God’s people drawn together by God’s grace, and the Holy Spirit, and called more deeply through prayer and commitment to go out and evangelise, ‘ to know and love Jesus more, to make Him better known and loved’. ‘The 12’ is made up of people from different walks of life, cultures and faith experiences, members of the laity and clergy, who are inspired by God’s love, mercy, forgiveness and healing.
The energy of ‘The 12’ membership is prayer and goodwill. Therefore, every member of ‘The 12’ has 12 people (intercessors) daily praying for him or her. Furthermore, members of ‘The 12’ daily pray for each other’s ongoing renewal and commitment to the mission of ‘The 12’.
We aspire to bring God’s freedom, healing, forgiveness, joy and wholeness to all we meet by offering deliverance ministry (Unbound: Freedom in Christ), New Life in the Spirit Seminars, Parish/Pastoral Area/Diocesan leadership team retreats, and/or days of recollection. We desire to encourage and enable all those in the community and parish ministries to become Christ’s ‘Intentional Disciples’, who will go out with the mandate of Jesus Christ to “ make disciples of all nations” (Mt. 28:19).
The Second Vatican Council has re-emphasise the importance of our baptism-that through our Baptism we all have become Christ’s disciples, priests, prophets and Kings (Lumen Gentium, Ch. 2). ‘The 12’ therefore, remind all of the importance of baptism in being Christian witnesses in today’s world.
